King Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders may be performing impressively at the India Premier League, but the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) seems to be quite irked up with the Bollywood superstar. The KMC states that Shahrukh Khan’s company, Red Chilli Entertainment (RCE), have to pay it Rs 22 lakh for advertisements and banners that were put up within the Eden Gardens stadium on Sunday, 20th April.

The KMC says publicity matter was put up during the Sunday’s cricket match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers in the stadium and Red Chillies Entertainment is yet to pay for it. As per KMC, RCE has to pay a fee at the rate of Rs 15 per sq ft of signage, which totals up to a substantial amount of Rs 22 lakh. The payment, KMC says, was due on 19 April.

Faiyaz Ahmed Khan, the Mayor in Council of the KMC, informed that as per the provision of the KMC act, it can fine upto thrice the amount of the present bill if the Red Chillies Entertainment does not pay. In the mean time, the Kolkata office of the Knight Riders has refused to comment on the issue. This could be because of the fact that the next match featuring the Knight Riders at Eden Gardens is planned  to take place on 29 April.
